Volts members Johnno, P Man and Burkey (occasionally accompanied by Insane-O Shaun-O, Year 8 Kid Dane and Will) continue
their quest to try everything at the 24 Hour Bakery in Terrigal. Here's a list of what has been tried, and what they recommend
to eat and not to eat.
Blueberry Danish - Looks can be decieving, it definately was in this glazy number. The Blueberry danish,
to the eye, looks tasty to the max, however having been tried by P-man, the theory of its edibility was questionable. Although
having expected too much of it, the initial judging was bias. Having come to terms with reality, it's not a bad little pastry.
5.5/10
Passionfruit Tart - What can i say about this little tart? It is great for a person keen enough
to go to the bakery, but not keen enough to eat that much. Coated with a passionfruit icing and filled with fresh cream, this
petite pastry doesn't dissapoint. 7/10
Vanilla Milkshake - Definetly the pick of the crop. One of
the the best milkshakes available, second only to the Forries cornershop. 10/10
(although, if on a tight budget, it might
not be the best to go for. Costing around $4)
Mars Bar Cheesecake - An interesting style of cuisine. Was originally nice but the sloppyness became
annoying so did the taste. 6/10
Neenish Tart - Johnno's savoury pick, a classic that never disappoints. 10/10
Caramel Slice - Personal favourite of P Mans, the one he had from the bakery didn not live up to his
expectations however. 7/10
Suss Cream Tart - Big mistake made by Johnno when he purcahsed this interesting looking snack, cream
was suss and so was the pastry. 4/10
"Corn Chip Pie" aka Mexican Pie - Once again the unique style of cuisine served by the bakery tempted
the pallet of Prousty. Not a successful buy though...6/10
Satay Pie - Sounded tasty according to Johnno, but didn't live up to the hype. For some reason rice
in a pie just doesn't go. 5/10
Plain Pie - No excitement here, just your standard plain pie. 7/10
Cheese & Bacon Pie - Sounded nice but was a bit below the hype. 6.5/10
Chicken & Veg Pie - Never disappoints. 8/10
The Oak's and Coke's are always cold and refreshing.
Also they play good music. On the two most recent visits to the bakery, Johnno and Prousty walked in with "Better" by
The Screaming Jets, the second time "Beds Are Burning" by Midnight Oil.
What a top desintation.....Pics will be coming soon.
